Felt Bat Wings Pet Costume
Two straps, no fabric on the body.
Two straps and a pair of felt wings. Nothing sits on the back, nothing wraps a leg, and the animal is carrying about the weight of its own collar.
Taxes calculated at checkout

- Neck band plus a strap behind the front legs

Why you'll love it
Made for happy, healthy pets
Almost nothing to object to
The animal wears two narrow straps. There is no panel over the back, nothing under the belly and no sleeve, which puts this alongside the bandana as one of the two things a reluctant cat will usually accept.
Felt holds its shape
Stiffened felt keeps the scalloped wing outline without any wire, so there is nothing rigid to bend out of true and nothing sharp inside the costume.
Light enough to forget
The small weighs twenty-seven grams. On a cat that is roughly the weight of a collar and a tag, which is a load the animal is already carrying and used to.
Good fit if
- Cats, and any pet that objects to fabric on the body
- A costume that has to go on in one movement
- Photographs where a silhouette matters more than detail
- Small animals, since the smallest weighs 27 grams
Look elsewhere if
- You will not be in the room the whole time
- The animal already resents a harness strap
- You want something that will survive a wash
What the animal actually carries
A narrow band at the throat, a second behind the front legs, and a flat felt shape sitting above the shoulders. That is all of it. The smallest pair weighs twenty-seven grams, which for a cat is close to the weight of the collar and tag it already wears without complaint.
Because the felt is stiffened rather than wired, the wing shape holds itself without anything rigid inside the costume. There is no armature to bend out of true and nothing that could work through the fabric and press on the animal.
The claim the supplier is proud of
The listing states that the chest strap is reinforced so that it is difficult for dogs to take the wings off by themselves. That is written as a selling point. It is worth turning over, because what it actually describes is a costume the animal cannot escape from without a person.
For a supervised twenty minutes that is fine and even useful, since the wings stay put for the photographs. Left on an unattended animal it removes the one safety mechanism a pet has, which is the ability to shed something it has decided it dislikes.
Why we do not sell the spider version
The same supplier listing carries a spider style under the same product code, with furry legs instead of wings. We have not offered it, for two reasons. It duplicates the plush spider costume already in this range, and the two would sit on the same shelf competing with each other on price rather than on merit.
The listing also bundles a two-pack under what it calls a colour axis, which is a quantity rather than a colour. That is not offered either. What remains is one style in three sizes, which is what the product actually is once the listing is untangled.

The supplier publishes no wingspan or strap measurements, only weights, and we would rather print that than invent a chart. Fit by the chest strap: it closes behind the front legs, so whatever size harness your animal takes is the size to pick here. Small suits most cats and kittens, medium a large cat or a terrier, large anything up to about spaniel width.
Good questions
Before you buy
No, and we would rather say so. A reinforced strap that resists removal is sold as a feature and is really a reason to supervise: anything an animal cannot shed by itself is something you have to take off for them.
The supplier makes one under the same listing. We do not offer it, because it duplicates the plush spider costume in this range and the two would compete on the same shelf.
Small for most cats and kittens, medium for a large or long-bodied cat. The strap sits behind the front legs, so match it to chest girth rather than to weight.
Spot clean only. Stiffened felt gets its shape from a bonding agent that water softens, and a wing that has been through a wash hangs limp and does not recover.
They stay where they are put. The felt is rigid enough to hold the outline, which is what makes the silhouette read in a photograph rather than collapsing against the animal's sides.
