Sample, not realNearly perfect
Does everything I wanted. Only reason for four stars is that I sometimes want to put down a fifth utensil and it can only lie in the tray, where the handle isn't held. Not a big deal.

Four notches along the back hold four handles upright, and the shallow tray in front catches whatever runs off the spoons. The countertop beside the stovetop stays clean while the pans are on.
Color Black

How to use it
Each of the four notches takes one handle, so the spoon stays put and doesn't roll off.
Sauce runs into the tray in front, and the raised rim keeps it there instead of on the countertop.
When you've finished cooking, tip out the drips, rinse it and stand it on its edge to dry.
Close up

Each one cradles a handle, so a wooden spoon, a ladle, a spatula and tongs can all sit side by side.
The heads of the utensils lie here. Sauce, oil and stock collect in it rather than spreading across the counter.
A low wall runs round three sides of the tray, enough to keep a few spoonfuls of gravy where they landed.
A small hole in the corner lets it hang on a hook by the cooker when you are not using it.
Compared
A saucer by the stovetop does the job for one spoon. Once two or three are in use, it gets crowded and things slide off.
| Compared | This productFour slot rest | Saucer | Single spoon rest |

| Breaks if dropped | No | Yes | Depends on material |
Four, one in each slot along the back. A fifth can lie flat in the tray, but then it isn't held by the handle.
5.4 in (13.8 cm) square and 1.5 in (3.9 cm) tall at the slots, so it fits beside the stovetop without taking much countertop.
Put it on the countertop beside the stovetop, not on a burner or a hot ring. The supplier gives no heat rating, so treat it like any other countertop item.
The base is flat silicone and the whole rest weighs about 3.4 oz (95 g), so put it on a dry patch of countertop. A wet surface lets most things skid, this included.
All four are the same mold and size. Black and gray hide stains best; beige and sage green are softer next to wood or pale countertops.

Sample, not realGravy day for the holidays means a whisk, a ladle and a spoon all dripping at once. Used to be paper towels everywhere. Now it's one tray, rinse, done. It took me three attempts to find a good spot for it, and the one beside the stove wins. Everything I need is within reach, and the whole thing rinses off in a moment once the meal is on the table.

Sample, not realLove the black, but it shows crumbs and flour a bit. A quick wipe sorts it.
