Sample, not realClear ones for mystery leftovers
My fridge used to be full of foil covered mysteries. Clear lids mean I can see which bowl has the chili and which has the rice.

Plastic wrap tears, sticks to itself and goes in the bin after one use. These six rings of silicone stretch over the rim instead, then wash and go back in the drawer.
Color Clear
How to use it
Choose the lid a little smaller than the rim, so it has to stretch to fit.
Hold one tab, stretch the lid across and hook the far edge, then work round the rim.
Lift one tab to release it, wash it in warm soapy water and stack the set together.
Fit
Each lid grips by stretching, so it needs a firm rim slightly larger than itself.
The smallest lid, 2.6 in (6.5 cm), suits a cut lemon, a jar or a tin of tomato purée.
Compared
Film still wins for wrapping odd shapes like half a cabbage. For anything with a rim, a lid is simpler.
| Compared | This productStretch lids | Plastic wrap |
|---|---|---|
| Used again | Yes | No |
| Tears while you fit it | No | Yes |
| Wraps irregular shapes | No | Yes |
| Takes up drawer space | A flat stack | A long box |
Small square tubs, yes, if a lid stretches far enough to reach the corners. Round rims are what they grip best.
8.1 in (20.5 cm) across before stretching, which covers most mixing bowls up to about that width.
The clear set has a faint blue tint, as in the first photo. The blue and green sets are tinted all the way through but still let you see what is underneath.
The supplier gives no temperature rating, so we do not recommend heating food with them on. Use them for storing and carrying.

Sample, not realHalf a can of coconut milk, half a can of tomato paste, there are always leftovers. These stretch right over the can rim and go straight in the fridge.

Sample, not realGreat on round bowls. Most of my containers are square glass ones though, and only the smallest of those work. The bigger lids pop off the corners.

Sample, not realEvery time I stretch the big one over a bowl it pops off the other side before I can get it hooked. My wife does it fine, I just don't have the patience for it. Back to plastic wrap for me.

Sample, not realTook a bit of trial and error to learn which lid goes with which bowl. Too close in size and it won't grip, too small and it's a fight to stretch. Now I've worked out my favourites and keep those at the top of the drawer. They're great on tins and cut fruit, and they stack flat, which my small drawer appreciates. Four stars for the learning bit.

Sample, not realAlways put a tea towel over the bowl of rice or the bread. Now there's a proper lid in the right size. They stack flat in the drawer when not in use.

Sample, not realReally glad I bought these. The little ones are perfect for cut lemons and limes, and the middle sizes do most of my bowls. The biggest takes a fair bit of stretching to get over my mixing bowl, and the first few times it pinged off before I had it hooked. Hold one tab, hook the far side, then work round. Once you know the knack it's fine.
