Compared

Sensor or pump bottle?

A pump bottle costs less and needs no batteries. The sensor model earns its place when your hands are messy and you'd rather not touch anything.

Questions

Yes. The supplier lists it for liquid soap, washing-up liquid and lotion. It is not made for foaming soap.

No. It runs on four AAA batteries fitted underneath, so it can sit anywhere on the worktop.

It reacts to something close under the spout, not to movement across the room. Keep the area below the spout clear of cloths and sponges that could set it off.

The supplier lists liquid soap, lotion and sanitiser. Thin liquids flow best; a thick gel may come out slowly or need a second wave of the hand.

Greasy hands friendly

Cooking burgers and shaping meatballs, my hands are covered. I just put them under the spout and soap comes out. No more smearing grease on the pump.

Good but plasticky

Works great and looks decent. Feels like plastic, which it is, so I would not expect a heavy duty feel.

Works with dish soap

Put regular dish soap in it and it works perfectly, the supplier lists dish soap and liquid soap as fine. I wouldn't use foaming soap as they say. Fills easily and looks good beside the sink.

Look good in black and silver

The black and silver finish suits my kitchen better than I expected, and the chrome effect wipes clean easily.

Needs a bit more soap

Works well for hands. For doing the washing up it needs a couple of goes to get enough liquid.

Love the finish

The chrome effect finish looks nice by the sink and doesn't show every smudge.
