Great for my small hands and I'm quick with it now.

A palm peeler swaps the handle for two rubber rings. Your fingers go through them, the blade faces outwards, and peeling a bag of carrots becomes a stroking motion instead of a clench.
Colour Green

How to use it
Put your index and middle fingers through the two rubber rings so the blade faces your palm side out.
Hold the carrot or potato in the other hand and draw the blade along it, away from you.
Rinse the blade under the tap straight after use so starch and peel don't dry on it.
Close up

A slotted steel blade runs across the front edge, like the head of a swivel peeler laid flat.
Two soft TPR loops for the index and middle fingers. They stretch a little, so most hand sizes fit.
The flat grey back rests against your palm and spreads the pressure, which is the whole point for tired hands.
Compared
Keep your old peeler for apples and knobbly roots. The palm version shines on long, straight vegetables.

It suits people who find gripping a handle tiring, because the rings hold it and your fingers only steer. It is slower on very knobbly vegetables such as ginger.
Choose two green, two orange, or one green and one orange. Both peelers in the pack are the same size and shape.
Yes. The rings and blade are symmetrical, so it sits the same way on either hand. Peel away from your body whichever hand you use.
No, the blade is fixed into the plastic body. That is one reason it comes as a pair: when one dulls after heavy use, the second is ready.

Potato salad for the whole street party and peeling was no problem. Rings stayed put, strokes were quick, the blade stayed clean after a rinse.

Moved into my first flat and this was one of the first things I bought. Wasn't sure about the look of it, and it turns out it's brilliant.

Got one of each colour and it looks cute in the drawer. Both feel exactly the same in the hand.

Sundays are for batch cooking in our house and that means a mountain of carrots, parsnips and potatoes for the week. Having two of these means my partner and I peel side by side at the worktop instead of one of us waiting. The rings keep it on your fingers so you can put the veg down, grab the next one and carry on without fumbling. Done in no time.

Winter stews mean a heap of parsnips and carrots. This does them cleanly, and the rings mean I'm not gripping anything.

My dad had a stroke last year and his grip on one side is much weaker. His occupational therapist suggested trying tools that don't need a strong grip, and this fits the bill. He slips it on, holds the carrot steady on the board with his good hand and strokes along it. He's peeled the veg for Sunday lunch three weeks running and it's done wonders for his confidence.

Light and quick. Gone back to peeling every day.

Peels fast but starch dries onto the blade if you leave it, so rinse it right after. Easy habit really.

We make homemade fries a few times a week and peeling five or six russets was always the worst part of dinner. My regular peeler made my fingers sore from gripping. With this one I just stroke down the potato, turn it a little and go again. Takes a few potatoes to get the rhythm but now it's quicker than before and my hand doesn't get tired at all.
