Mini Bag Sealer

$18.99

Half a bag of crisps goes stale overnight with a peg on it. Run this little heat sealer along the top instead and the bag closes like it did in the shop.

How to use it

Three steps to a closed bag

  1. 01

    Charge it first

Plug it into a USB socket and let it charge fully before the first seal.

  2. 02

    Warm it up

Push the side switch on, hold the bag closed and press the heat button for a few seconds.

  3. 03

    Slide along the edge

Run the jaw slowly along the top of the bag in one pass, then let the seam cool before you test it.

What each part does

Kindral mini bag sealer in white
  1. Two buttons

One switches on the heating strip for sealing. The other pushes out a short blade for slitting a bag open along a straight line.

  2. Heated jaw

The top edge of the bag sits in this narrow gap. Squeeze gently and draw the sealer from one side of the bag to the other.

  3. Charging port

A USB socket on the side tops up the battery inside. A small light by the power switch shows it is on.

Compared

Sealer, clip or peg?

A clip is quicker to put on. A sealed seam closes the bag the way the factory did, and there is nothing to fall off in the cupboard.

Questions

Thin plastic bags such as crisp packets, sweet bags and freezer bags. It does not seal paper, card or foil trays.

No. It has a rechargeable battery inside and charges through the USB port on its side.

The jaw probably moved too fast or had not warmed up. Press the heat button for a few seconds first, then draw it slowly in one pass and let the seam cool.

About 9.5 by 4 by 3.5 cm and roughly 45 g, so it sits in a palm, a drawer or on the fridge door by the magnet on its back.

Won't seal my paper bags

Mostly wanted it for flour and coffee bags, which turn out to be paper, and it won't seal those. Should have read more closely, but it's no use to me.

Gift for a crisp addict

Bought this as a stocking filler for my brother, who eats more crisps than anyone I know and never finishes a bag. He was a bit baffled until I showed him how it works, and now he sends me photos of perfectly sealed packets. It's small enough for a stocking, comes in white or blue, and charges from a USB port, so no batteries to buy.

Small hands approve

My nine year old can use it, and he loves doing it. It's light and the button is easy to press. Better than a bag clip.

Office desk snacks

Keep it in my desk drawer at work for the bag of crisps I nibble on all week. Seals in seconds and nobody steals my snacks since they stay fresh.

Sealing bulk snack bags

Buy snacks in the big bags and portion them. This reseals the main bag every time and the little ones too.

Seals tortilla bags

Bags of tortilla wraps seal shut again with this, and the wraps don't dry out at the edges. Works on thin plastic, as it says.

Frozen veggie bags sealed

Open bags of frozen peas and corn used to spill all over the freezer drawer. Now I seal them back up and they stay put.
