Baking goes better when the flour is weighed rather than guessed. This scale reads up to 5 kg in single grams, zeroes out the bowl with one press, and is small enough to live on its edge in a cupboard.

Steel platform
A brushed stainless steel plate set into a 17.5 cm round body. A mixing bowl or loaf tin sits on it easily.
2
Display
Reads to the gram up to 5 kg. The supplier gives a tolerance of 3 g either way, fine for home baking.
3
Unit button
Cycles between grams, ounces and pounds, so an American recipe in ounces needs no converting.
4
Power and tare
Switches the scale on, and pressed again with a bowl on top, sets the display back to zero.

Scale or measuring cups?
Cups measure volume, and a cup of flour can vary by a fair margin depending on how it's scooped. Weight doesn't change with packing.

For water and milk, 1 g is the same as 1 ml, so a recipe in millilitres still works on the scale.
Questions
No. It reads grams, ounces and pounds. For water and milk, 1 g is 1 ml, so weigh it in grams.
The supplier doesn't say, so plan on two AAA batteries of your own. They go in under the cover on the base.
It shows single grams, and the supplier states a tolerance of plus or minus 3 g. For bread, cakes and most cooking that is plenty; for weighing tiny amounts of yeast, a jeweller's scale is better.
Stand it on a flat, firm worktop away from draughts and wait for the number to settle. A weak battery can also make readings wander, so try fresh AAA cells.

Gave it to my dad
Dad took up bread making after he retired. He called to say he weighs every ingredient now and his loaves look like the bakery's. He is rather proud of it. He sends me photos of every loaf, and the scale appears in the corner of each one.
Flour by the cup used to make my cookies hit and miss. Weighed on this they come out the same every single time. Brown butter chocolate chip batch was perfect.
Jam and chutney season means weighing lots of fruit and sugar, and doing it properly makes all the difference. It takes up to 5 kg so a big bowl of plums is no trouble.
Three days of mince pies, stollen and a cake for the neighbours. Every ingredient weighed in one bowl, and the scale never missed a beat. Wiped clean between each recipe and went back in the drawer. Next year I plan to bake even more because the scale makes it easy.
