Better than a bowl
Better than a bowl on the side, which I always forgot about.

Hook this frame over the cupboard door under your chopping board and you have a small open bag right at the edge of the worktop. Peelings go straight in, and the main bin stays shut.

How to use it
Open the cupboard under the worktop and drop the hook over the top edge of the door.
Pull a carrier bag or small bin liner up through the frame and fold the top over the rim.
Sweep peelings in as you go, then tie the bag and take it out to the main bin.
Close up

A flat plastic hook drops over the top edge of the door. It suits doors and drawer fronts thinner than 2 cm.
The bag folds over this inner rim and is held by the white outer frame, so it stays open while you scrape.
The frame measures 12.5 by 22 cm: wide enough for a board edge, small enough for a carrier bag.
Compared
The big bin is still where the bag ends up. This just saves the trips across the kitchen with a handful of onion skins while you cook.

Empty it after each cooking session; it has no lid, so it is not meant for scraps that sit overnight.
It hooks over doors and drawer fronts thinner than 2 cm. Check there is a small gap above the door when it closes, because the hook sits in that gap.
A supermarket carrier bag or a small pedal bin liner. The frame is 12.5 × 22 cm, so a full kitchen bin bag is too big for it.
The hook sits on top of the door, so the door needs a little clearance below the worktop. Most kitchens use it with the door left open while cooking, then lift it off.
Yes, on a drawer front under 2 cm thick. Open the drawer slightly so the hook can drop over the top edge.
It is made for light scraps like peelings, shells and trimmings. The supplier gives no load rating, so empty heavy, wet waste into the main bin rather than letting the bag fill.

Fitted it in about ten seconds. Open the door, hook it on, add a bag.

I wanted to use my usual trash bags and they are far too big for the frame. Not what I had in mind.

Packing lunchboxes in the morning is rushed enough without a trail of apple cores and orange peel across the side. This catches it all. It's right by the worktop and out of the way of everyone coming and going. One bag does a week of lunch box prep for three of us.

It takes almost no room and hangs on the outside of the cabinet door. Zero issues so far.

Sunday fruit salad for the week means melon rind, pineapple skin and strawberry tops. Straight into the bag and the worktop stays clear. The frame holds a carrier bag open with the top folded over the rim, so nothing slips in. When I'm done I tie it and lift the frame off in one motion. It has quietly become the thing I'd miss most if I lost it.

Does what it says but it only fits small bags, so I can't use a regular kitchen trash bag. That's stated in the description. Fine for peelings.

No screws, no mess. Just hook it over the door and go.

White frame with a green rim looks neat on the door. Better than I expected for a plain plastic thing.

My flat kitchen has no room for a pedal bin next to the worktop so this is perfect. I use an old carrier bag, fold the top over the green rim and sweep the veg peelings in as I go. When I'm done I tie it, lift the frame off and take the bag out. Our cupboard door was thin enough with a small gap on top, so it hooks on fine. Nice and neat.
