Spritz cookies are soft butter dough pushed through a shaped disc straight onto the tray. This press does it one squeeze at a time, with 12 discs and a clear barrel that shows when to refill.

How to use it
Unscrew the end ring, drop in a disc with the printed side facing out, and screw the ring back on.
Pack in soft butter dough with a spoon, pressing out air pockets, then screw the trigger head onto the top.
Stand the press upright on a bare tray, squeeze the trigger once and lift straight up. Leave a gap and go again.
Close up

Each full squeeze clicks the rod down one notch, which pushes out roughly the same amount each time.
The notches along the rod are what the trigger grips. Through the clear barrel you can see how much is left to press.
Unscrews to swap the disc. The disc sits inside it with the printed side facing out, towards the tray.
They stack flat, so the whole set fits in a drawer beside the press between batches.
Compared
Rolled and cut cookies need chilled dough and a rolling pin. A press shapes the mix at room temperature, so a tray goes from bowl to oven without a chilling stage.

Spritz dough needs a cold, bare metal tray to grip as you lift the press. Skip baking paper, silicone mats and grease, chill the tray if the kitchen is warm, and keep the press flat against it while you squeeze.
A soft butter dough with nothing chunky in it. Chocolate chips, nuts and dried fruit block the holes in the disc. If the dough is too stiff to push through, let it warm up on the side for ten minutes.
Yes. Two of the 12 discs are a Christmas tree and a snowflake star, and the flower shapes take a pinch of coloured sugar before baking or a dip in melted chocolate once cool.
Usually not. Spritz dough comes through the disc most cleanly at cool room temperature. If it is soft and greasy, chill it for 10 to 15 minutes; if it cracks or refuses to come through the disc, leave it out a little longer.
Leave about 3 cm between them. Butter dough spreads a little in the oven, and the gap also gives you room to set the press down flat for the next one without touching its neighbour.
