Baking goes better when the flour is weighed rather than guessed. This scale reads up to 5 kg in single grams, zeroes out the bowl with one press, and is small enough to live on its edge in a cupboard.

Steel platform
A brushed stainless steel plate set into a 17.5 cm round body. A mixing bowl or loaf tin sits on it easily.
2
Display
Reads to the gram up to 5 kg. The supplier gives a tolerance of 3 g either way, fine for home baking.
3
Unit button
Cycles between grams, ounces and pounds, so an American recipe in ounces needs no converting.

Scale or measuring cups?
Cups measure volume, and a cup of flour can vary by a fair margin depending on how it's scooped. Weight doesn't change with packing.

For water and milk, 1 g is the same as 1 ml, so a recipe in millilitres still works on the scale.
Questions
No. It reads grams, ounces and pounds. For water and milk, 1 g is 1 ml, so weigh it in grams.
The supplier doesn't say, so plan on two AAA batteries of your own. They go in under the cover on the base.
It shows single grams, and the supplier states a tolerance of plus or minus 3 g. For bread, cakes and most cooking that is plenty; for weighing tiny amounts of yeast, a jeweller's scale is better.
Stand it on a flat, firm worktop away from draughts and wait for the number to settle. A weak battery can also make readings wander, so try fresh AAA cells.

Bakes better, argues less
Husband and I used to argue over how much a cup is. Now we weigh it and the argument is over. We have been together twenty years and this is the first piece of kit that has sorted our baking arguments. Tare button, grams, done.
Fed my starter, mixed the dough and weighed salt in the same bowl, no extra dishes to wash. The scale is now on the counter permanently. I started sourdough in the spring and it was always hit and miss until I started weighing. Now every loaf has a decent crumb and a good crust, and I put most of that down to being able to measure precisely.
Switched from cups to grams after watching a baking show, and this scale made it painless. My banana bread has never been better and my pie crust is flakier because I stopped overloading flour.
Fresh pasta dough needs the right ratio of flour to eggs and this does the job. I weigh the flour and the eggs separately on the same scale with tare between.
