Quartering grapes with a knife means chasing small, slippery fruit round a board. This grape cutter holds one in a ring of blades and splits it into four with a single squeeze.
Colour Red

How to use it
Open the tong and sit a single grape or cherry tomato in the blade ring.
Close the handles. The pusher drives the fruit through the blades and four pieces drop out underneath.
Pull the two arms apart at the clip and rinse each one, so no pulp stays trapped at the hinge.
Close up

Two plastic blades cross inside the ring, so whatever passes through leaves in four wedges.
Four fins line up with the gaps in the cross and drive the fruit right through the ring.
Joins the two arms at the handle end. Unclip it to rinse out pulp and seeds.
Compared
A small knife is still the tool for a whole punnet you want halved. For quarters, one at a time, the tong is quicker and keeps fingers away from the blade.

Yes. The ring holds a single grape or cherry tomato, so you load and squeeze once per piece. It is quicker than a knife for a bowlful, not a batch slicer.
Most table grapes and cherry tomatoes sit in the ring. A plum tomato or a very large grape is too big and needs a knife.
Small strawberries and pitted olives fit the ring and come out in quarters. Anything with a stone, like a cherry, needs pitting first or it will jam the blades.
No. The cross inside the ring is moulded from the same polypropylene as the arms, so it splits soft fruit but will not cut harder vegetables such as carrot or radish.

Sample, not realBought it for making fruit platters for work events and it's just too slow for that. One grape at a time is fine for a toddler's snack, but when you've got a few kilos to get through your hand gets tired and a knife with a few grapes lined up is quicker. Does a neat job though, and I'll keep it for my nephew's visits.

Sample, not realFour stars because it's one at a time, which I knew, but a bowl of 50 grapes still makes me wish for a batch version.

Sample, not realEasy to hand wash so I haven't bothered with the dishwasher. A quick rinse does it.

Sample, not realDoes a nice clean cut. Takes a firmer squeeze than I expected, so after a big bowl of grapes my hand does feel it a little.

Sample, not realHonestly expected this to end up at the back of a drawer. It's been out on the side every day since I got it. My daughter has just turned one and grapes are her favourite thing. Each one goes in, I squeeze, four neat quarters drop out. It's a small thing but at six in the morning anything that makes breakfast quicker is welcome.
