How to use it
From chips to a smoked drink

Fill the cup
Lift the hinged metal lid and spoon a small pinch of wood chips into the cup underneath it.

Light and set down
Press the button to light the chips, then rest the smoker straight on the rim of the glass so the smoke stays inside.

Wait, then lift
Leave it for 20 to 60 seconds, depending on how smoky you like it, then lift it off. Let the cup cool before you tip out the ash.

The slotted metal lid flips up to show a small cup. A pinch of chips sits there while the igniter beneath lights it.
Battery readout
Two digits show how much charge is left, beside two buttons. Plug in the USB cable from the box when the number drops.

The black base rests across the rim. Smoke leaves through a vent on the underside, so it gathers in the glass rather than drifting round the room.

No. An electric igniter inside the top lights the wood chips, and the battery charges from the USB cable in the box, so there is no gas lighter to buy or refill.
No. The cut glass tumbler in the photos only shows how the top sits. Use your own rocks or whisky glass with a rim the smoker can rest on.
Oak and walnut give a deeper, drier smoke that sits well with whisky and bourbon. The fruit woods in the kit, apple, cherry, pear and peach, are lighter and sweeter, so try them with rum, gin or an iced coffee.
It is made to rest on a rocks or whisky glass, as in the photos. The supplier does not give its diameter, so a wide coupe or a narrow highball may not hold it level.
A little comes out when you lift the top away. Open a window, keep it clear of smoke alarms, and lift it slowly so the drink keeps most of the smoke.
